Running

Designed for Running Specialists, Podiatrists and Sports Scientists. TEMPLO Basic is video treadmill gait analysis software 'Designed for Purpose'.

The AnalysisPro is for the specialist running shop, it leads you through a step-by-step process, from your client’s original footwear and barefoot to a number of test shoes. Once the videos are recorded they are systematically synchronised and automatically compared!

MultiView offers a more detailed analysis allowing comparison of several shoe models. Of course, you have the graphic tools at your disposal to highlight the differences. The comparison tool enables you to choose instantly the number and model of shoes to compare.

Calibration sheets are a basic requirement to achieve an optimal positioning of your cameras. The sheets are located behind and beside the treadmill, and thus enable an exact horizontal and vertical positioning of the camera.

In addition, the monochromatic colour offers a good contrast to the skin and the skin markings of the athlete.

The calibration sheets are available on a 5mm plastic board with surface protection that is matt finished to prevent unnecessary reflection or shadows.

Once the treadmill has been leveled, the calibration sheets are then mounted to the wall and 'squared' to the treadmill. Using the 'crossed-hairs' (yellow crossed lines) from your software toolbox you can ensure that the camera is 'squared' to both the treadmill and calibration sheets. Complying with this protocol ensures accurate measurement of angles and distance.

Sidas / Conform'able. The HD Vac is the machine used by Footpro to create our clients footprints which are then used to mould the custom insoles.  This air vacuum system with silicon balls allows for high definition and brings incredible performance to moulded insoles.  The option to mould semi-weight bearing allows our technicians to adapt each insole to the requirements of the individual.

Injury Fact Sheet - Runner's knee

Runner's Knee is one of the most common running injuries and 40% of all overuse injury will be located at the knee region. The knee and ankle work closely together as a shock absorption mechanism. Shock which is not attenuated through the ankle joint is then transfered up the kenetic chain at the knee joint. A lot of tendons, muscles and fascia all intsert at the knee thus making it a vital part of the chain.

Step 1 Gait Analysis and Footscan

  • Highly active sports and people with poor biomechanics can lead to Runners Knee and other associated injuries. Tight calves will limit the ankle dorsiflexion and the foot will tend to hit the ground a lot flatter then required. The knee will have to absorb a higher rate of shock at an increased speed which places extreme load through the patella tendon.

Step 2 Custom Moulded Insole

  • Footpros custom insole will help to stabilise you feet through gait phases and ultimately reduce the shock that the knee has to contend with. Keeping your feet in the optimum position throughout your contact phase of gait is essential to offloading the ground force reaction.

Step 3 Footwear

  • Wrong or improperly fitted footwear can cause the foot to function less effectively than usual. Old or worn out shoes can contribute to runner's knee pain and injury. Making sure the functionality of the shoe suits your foot type is a top priority for Footpro. The footwear solution is a vital key in the fitting process as it is the connection between the body and ground. Poor shoe choice can considerably increase the chance of injury and is one of the main contributers to runner's knee.

  • Upper leg strengthening and stretching is also important. Corrective exercise with a sports professional and personal trainer will help with improved core stability and general strength.
